A New Dawn: A letter for the Americans who are fighting for our democracy, for all Puerto Ricans, to those who are defying God’s will and to the whole world

 

 

Dear brothers and sisters:

 

First, I will talk to all the Americans who are fighting right now for our democracy…

God calls us, Americans of all kind of cultural heritage, to a new unity, to a new consecration to charity, to help each other to grow in communion, making possible that everyone in the world can grow as a brother and as a sister, beginning with our own nation.

God is giving us a new identity: a call to use our freedom for helping to grow in communion, for helping to create a United States and a world where all peoples can shine as a light, as a brother and a sister that is free, equal and that grows with dignity.

This is the humble contribution that Puerto Rico, as culture, is called to give to the United States, as nation, and to the whole world: to help our nation to grow in communion.

God is giving us a new vision: seeing everyone as a brother and as a sister that we are called to help to grow as the best person he or she can be.

God is giving us a new light: the light of making possible a fraternal Puerto Rico, a fraternal United States, a fraternal world… free of any kind of violation of human rights and of anything that dehumanizes our society, free of any kind of social abortion that systematically dehumanizes those who are seen as “inconvenient”, avoiding us to become the fraternal human family that we are called to be as a nation.

What is happening right now in Puerto Rico is a clear threat to the United States’ democracy. As Martin Luther King Jr. said: “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Allow me to paraphrase this quote: violations of human rights anywhere are a threat to humanity everywhere. What is happening right now in Puerto Rico are very gruesome violations of human rights, and no American citizen with true patriotic love can stand something like this. As a matter of fact, no human being with true human sense can stand something like this.

This is a battle that concern all Americans, not only Puerto Ricans. This battle is a battle for the freedom of becoming who we are all called to be: brothers and sisters that grow in communion, human beings that are unconditionally called to grow and become who they are called to be. No matter who we are, we are called to grow as brothers and sisters, as equal citizens with equal rights to live and equal freedom to grow.

Whatever we use to fight this battle, we must use God’s weapons: prayer, charity, truth, humility, … This is a revolution of Love, a revolution that helps everyone to grow as a brother and a sister, as one nation under God’s Love. We are all called to embrace this revolution of Love in order to make possible that we can all grow and become who we are called to be: a nation of Love where everyone grows in fraternity.

A revolution of Love can be made right there where you are. This fight can be fought exactly where you are.

What are you doing to become the person, the living icon of God’s Love, that He calls you to be?

What are you doing to become the family, the sanctuary of God’s Love, that He calls you to be?

What are you doing to become the culture of life that God’s Love calls you to be?

What are you doing to become the nation of Love that grows in communion that God’s Love calls you to be?

What are you doing to become the democratic society that God’s Love calls you to be?

What are you doing to become the fraternal humanity that God’s Love calls you to be?

If you don’t believe in God, substitute “God’s Love” for “human fraternity”. You don’t need to be a Christian to see the other as a human being, as an equal brother and sister, although there is no way of being a true Christian without seeing in the other a brother and a sister to love as God loves us, to help to grow as God help us to grow, no matter who that brother and sister is. You just need to be a human being that is aware of being a human being.

Answers all these questions exactly where you are, and act in consequence. That is enough to ignite a revolution of Love. When you truly embrace this revolution of Love, you not only dare to become yourself who you are called to be: you also help our nation to become the democratic society that is called to be. This can mean a lot of changes, like is happening right now in Puerto Rico… but notice that all these changes are not made just as “social changes”, as “mediatic propaganda” or as a “social media project”, but as a personal change that becomes a social change: this change is being made possible as many people, many real-life patriotic heroes, are choosing to become the change that the United States needs to become the nation of Love that is called to be.

For those who are deliberately choosing to make this revolution of Love by standing for the democracy of our nation, by being the change that we need to help everyone to grow in communion, by being the change that Puerto Ricans needs to participate in the American democracy as equal citizens of United States, with equal rights and responsibilities, wherever you are: thank you for your service to the common good and for the future of our nation.

 

Now I am talking to American Puerto Ricans, inside and outside the island…

This is a new dawn for our history, Puerto Ricans. This is a call to become the culture of life that we are called to be, a culture where all human rights of all citizens are unconditionally respected. This is a call to beginning a new unity among us and with the United States, ending all kind of violation of human rights and beginning to be––walking together as brothers and sisters––a nation of Love that grows in communion; a democratic society, open to life and Love’s grace, open to help every person to grow as an equal citizen of our nation. This is the beginning of a beautiful new journey in our history.

We, American Puerto Ricans, are essentially unity of cultures. We have Spanish blood, African blood, and Taíno blood. We are Americans with a unique heritage among other cultures in our nation and that is enriching, something we must be proud of. We have been helping to grow in communion through centuries. The very location of Puerto Rico is a bridge of communion: between Europe, South America, North America, and Central America. Our call to help to grow in communion is in our own blood. We have done it through centuries, and we are called to do it again. We are called to help to grow in communion, helping to create a Puerto Rico that embraces a culture of life and a United States that is a nation of Love that grows in communion, where everyone can become the person who is called to be, no matter if the person is immigrant, poor, rich, unborn, elderly, gay… without adjectives. A person is a brother and a sister that we are called to help to grow, no matter what. We are all brothers and sisters that are unconditionally called to grow.

We have received a beautiful gift to help to grow in communion, to help the land of the free to shine as a land of light.

This begins with ourselves, American Puerto Ricans, to help our own people to grow in communion, in the nation we belong by birth. We are called to be citizens with the same rights and duties than any other American citizen. We are called not only to end the violations of human rights that are ravaging our beautiful island: we are also called the structural violation of human rights that supposes to not having all the rights and responsibilities that any other American citizen would have.

We are called to fight for a culture of life, for a nation of Love that grows in communion, for a democratic society, for fraternal humanity… for a world that is a land of light.

Beginning this new journey doesn’t mean to leave behind our cultural identity as Puerto Ricans, but leaving behind all kind of dehumanization and corruption and embracing what truly makes us Puerto Ricans: not being a member a political party, not an ideological vision, not being against someone else… but helping to grow in communion, as we had been doing since centuries ago. We must leave behind the “culture-of-no-being”: a culture built around what is not, around who we are not, around who we were in our past but we no longer are, around opposing the changes that are needed to become the Puerto Rico we are called to be. We must begin to build the culture-of-who-we-are: people that help to grow in communion of cultures, people that help to grow as brothers and sisters… people that are called to be a democratic society, formed by equal citizens, of the nation they belong by birth.

If you, Puerto Rican, have any doubt about what is your nationality, please take a minute to read what your passport says. If you don’t have one, you are free to see mine. Here are the pictures.

In the front, the passport says: “United States of America.” In the “nationality” space, the passport says: “United States of America.” In the “birthplace,” the passport says: “Puerto Rico, USA.” Every Puerto Rican has these very same words in their passports.

We are American Puerto Ricans. Anyone who denies this reality is simply committing historic negationism. Anyone who says that being American makes us less Puerto Ricans, is simply embracing, as I said, a culture-of-the-no-being: is embracing an identity of being Puerto Rican that is stuck in a past that is no longer a present, insisting on defining our Puerto Rican identity in opposition of who we are today: citizens of the United States.

If we want to eradicate violations of human rights, we must eradicate all of them, not only the ones that had been done in order to create obstacles on the road to the unavoidable change that Puerto Rico needs to leave all ideological dictatorship behind, but also the ones that had been happening through decades and that it is also the time to end, for once and all.

It is a time to unite as American Puerto Ricans to build the Puerto Rico that we are called to be: a Puerto Rico that embraces a culture-of-who-we-are, a Puerto Rico that helps to grow in communion, a Puerto Rico that is free of all kinds of violations of human rights, a Puerto Rico that embraces a revolution of Love that makes possible that we all can grow as brothers and sisters that also are equal citizens of the nation they belong by birth.

The moment of this revolution of Love, Puerto Ricans, that makes possible that we can become who we are called to be, is right here, right now. We all have the power to say “no” to all these violations of human rights. We all have the power to create the culture of life we are called to be. We all have the power to make the right choice: to become who we are called to be, to help everyone to grow as brothers and sisters of the same nation, as equal citizens of the United States.

 

Now I am talking to those that are defying God’s will…

God is a god of peace. God doesn’t want the destruction of our humanity. Any kind of dehumanization is social abortion: aborts our culture, aborts our nation, aborts our society… destroys humanity. And God is saying, clearly and loudly: no, this is not my way for you, Americans…

God is saying: My way for American Puerto Ricans is a revolution of Love that makes all things anew, a consecration of charity that gives a new unity between your culture and your nation: a call to help to grow in communion, to help to grow everyone as a brother and a sister.

God is a good of peace, but peace also requires armed forces when the violations of human rights persist. No matter what kind of armed forces we are, we all must be armed with the light of God’s Light, who gives the victory over any kind dehumanization and ideological dictatorship. That is our true weapon: the light of God’s Love.

God is saying very loudly: stop the dehumanization of My People. Surrender peacefully, embrace My Light, embrace My call to conversion, embrace the new dawn that is already shinning upon you…

This light can’t be hidden. You know it. We all know it. The only thing you can try to do it is denying it, to try to distort reality… but the truth, sooner or later, shines by itself. Right now it is shining upon the eyes of the whole world.

Dear brothers and sisters that are defying God’s will and are being complicit with the ideological dictatorship that is trying to hide the light that is already shinning upon us: hear His voice, that calls you to surrender peacefully. Do the right thing for Puerto Rico: allow our People to begin this journey to a new unity, a new fraternity, a new identity, a new vision…

If you, brothers and sisters that are defying God’s will, don’t surrender peacefully, there will be consequences that God doesn’t want, but will be enforced if it is necessary for guaranteeing the transition to a Puerto Rico free of violations of human rights. You know this. We all know this. God is saying this very clearly: I will do whatever is needed to save My people, in all the senses that this can mean (spiritually, physically, socio-politically…).

Dear brothers and sisters that are defying God’s will: consider this the last call before this amazing journey to a new unity that is given to Puerto Rico. Stop violating human rights, not matter in name of what or who you do it, or in what form you do it. Violations of human rights can never be tolerated in a democratic society, and the United States is a democratic society. God is now allowing Puerto Rico to become an ideological dictatorship, nor a culture-of-no-being. God is opening new ways to Puerto Rico, ways that won’t be destroyed by any distortion of reality or any ideological manauver.

Please, surrender yourselves peacefully to the appropriate authorities if you have committed a crime. Desist of defying our democratic order. Desist all kind of reality distortions and historic negationisms. This new dawn has already begun, and God is insisting on giving the chance of peace, while it is possible.

Stop destroying Puerto Rico with dehumanization and violence. God is now a God of war, but of God of Love, light, life, justice, truth, freedom, mercy… and He wants to forgive everything and give us a new beginning. That’s why He chose Puerto Rico to reveal himself as Jesus Charity: to end all abuses of human rights, to help us to grow as brothers and sisters and to give us a new beginning.

I repeat: surrender yourselves peacefully. Desist of all human right violations and all kind of terrorisms immediately. Consider this the last call for doing so peacefully. Let the truth shine. Let God’s charity shine. We are not called to be a land of terrorists. We are called to be a land of light.

This warning is not mine. I have no power and no authority to say this in my own name. I am saying this in God’s name, who wants that all his children can grow as brothers and sisters: surrender yourselves peacefully to the appropriate authorities and receive God’s call to become who we are called to be.

Let God’s mercy embrace you all… and help you to make the right choices.

 

Now I am talking to the whole world…

Although this revolution of Love began in the United States, this light of God’s Love, this new dawn, is for the whole world.

We are all called, as humanity, to grow as a family of Love. This call embraces all political visions, all nationalities, all cultures, all races, all religions… it embraces everyone because we are all human beings. We are all called to grow together as one human family united in Love. We are all called to consecrate ourselves to live charity, to help others to grow in communion, to help everyone to grow as a brother and a sister. We need to learn to face the many challenges that we face as a human family––any violation of human rights, inequality, illiteracy…––together, as brothers and sisters that help each other to grow in communion.

Although it is true that we face many crises that seem to be quite urgent to handle together, like global warming, we must also face a fact that is being unseen by many, I dare to say that by most: the root of all humanity’s crisis lies, one way or another, in dehumanization, in not seeing each other––or some others–– as God sees everyone: as brothers and sisters, all unconditionally called to grow in communion. It is God who is saying: stop dehumanizing each other, stop destroying humanity, embrace My Love and love each other as I have loved you. The dehumanization that ideologies have brought are the biggest threat to our humanity’s growth, and eventually, world’s peace, because there can’t be peace if we do not learn to grow together as brothers and sisters. We all truly need to embrace God’s call to conversion, to live charity, to make possible that everyone grows as a human being that is free, equal and unconditionally respected and loved. We are all called to “consecrate” our lives to help our fellow citizens to grow as a brother and a sister, even if this “consecration” is not assumed as a religious consecration, but as a change of vision that sees everyone with human fraternal sight.

This call for making a culture of life that recognizes everyone as a human being is a call for every culture, including yours.

This call for making a nation of Love that grows in communion, where everyone can become the best person he can be, where everyone can become who he is called to be, is a call for every nation, including yours.

This call for making a democratic society, where every person is unconditionally called to grow––where the person is conceived as unconditionally called to grow in communion as a human being–– and where all human rights of everyone are affirmed unconditionally… is a call for every society, including yours.

This call for making fraternal humanity, where everyone can grow as a brother and a sister in a free and just world, is a call for every human being, including you.

This call for a making a revolution of Love that converts the world in a land of light is for every person, including you… simply because you are a person. This radiation of God’s Love is for everyone.

For embrace this revolution of Love that makes possible that everyone grows as in communion, we need to create together education systems, political systems, economic systems, legal systems, communities, businesses, factories… that help everyone to grow as a brother and a sister. We need to stop seeking only the profit, the power or the influence: we need to seek true growth, and to learn not to assume that profit, power or influences are always growth choices, because if they mean dehumanization, it is not growth at all. We need to embrace together a real sense of growth: growing together as a human family. No profit if worth it if it does not help us to grow as humans. Nothing is worthier than the dignity of the person. We are not here to serve ideologies or profits: we are here to serve persons, to serve humanity. We need a pro-growth vision that is also a pro-humanity vision, not just a pro-profits vision, or pro-ideology vision, or a pro-power vision, or a pro-survival-of-the-strongest vision. We can’t keep dehumanizing each other in the name of systems that do not seek to serve the persons. We need to humanize our cultures, nations, and societies… and the change beings with every person who chooses to embrace a revolution of Love that helps everyone to grow in communion, that creates fraternal humanity.

Please ask yourself the same questions that I made earlier. Ask yourself what is the light that you are called to give in order to make possible a humanity that shines like constellations of living stars, whose light rays creates a land of light everyone grows in communion, beginning with your own person, with your own family, with your own culture, with your own nation, with your own society.

Ask yourself that question, be brave… and act in consequence. Not seek the change: be the change. Be the light.

We should not expect to have the same way to do this. Even God doesn’t expect that. But, no matter how we make this journey, we must share the same horizon: we are all called to grow in communion. That fraternity horizon doesn’t change, no matter how we choose to make the walk to it.

Remember: this is something made every day. Dare to be in every here and in every now the change that our world needs to become a humanity that grows freely, equally, unconditionally loved… and in peace.

Be the person you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

Be the family you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

Be the culture you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

Be the nation you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

Be the society you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

Be the humanity you are meant to be and you will set the world on fire.

May God’s Love help us all to become the person, the family, the culture, the nation, the society, the humanity that we are meant to be… the light we are meant to be: a light that helps to grow in communion.
